What others are saying about Office Supplies – The Comic(c):
Cute concept, minimalist to the extreme. Lola Akinmade presents Office Supplies, a webcomic about talking pens, printers, phones, and the like. It’s perfect for a two-minute wake-up at the office. They’re so cute, with their button eyes and simple happy expressions…..Johanna Draper Carlson, Comics Worth Reading.
“….I first met Lola Akinmade at SPX 2007 in Bethesda, Maryland. She had with her a set of mini-comics based on print-outs of her web comic Office Supplies. Lola herself was kind and charming, so I flipped through the mini-comics and fell in love.
Now, it’s obvious that I have a problem: I love office supplies. Of every sort. And the concept that they have their own personalities and dramas and humorous interludes made me laugh. So maybe I’m just a little crazy, but at least I’m not alone….” …..Lee Atchison, Sequential Tart.
I recently came across this website, the office supplies comic strip, which is created and maintained by Lola Akinmade. She uses office supplies as characters to make hilarious commentaries on everyday events in the workplace.
I especially liked the one called “Flat Screen Harassment.” It depicts a keyboard and a flat screen monitor and the keyboard makes a comment about how skinny the monitors are getting these days. The monitor then accuses the keyboard of sexual harassment.
There is an army of helmeted markers, memo reading computer diskettes and an obituary for a stapler. It makes for a very funny read, and I recommend it for anyone looking for something a little different….Office Supplies Blog.
